PhD

The first part provides students with an introduction to the PhD. It begins with the basic knowledge required for success, such as research methods, writing skills and time management. In the second part of the course, we focus on how to undertake research in a scientific environment. You will learn how to plan and manage your dissertation, how to use databases and archives in your research, how to analyse data and write good scientific reports. In addition, you will also understand how to present your findings in a professional manner at seminars and conferences. Finally, in this third part of the course, you will be introduced to writing grants and manage your own funding opportunities.

The second part focuses on how to write up a research proposal. We show you how to develop a good idea for a project and prepare materials that demonstrate its feasibility and importance. At the same time, we provide tips on communicating with potential funders such as university departments or foundations so that your application impacts them and other researchers who may benefit from it!
